Practice methods to improve your aim in FPS

In FPS (first person shooter) games, the ability to aim accurately at the enemy is one of the most important skills that is directly linked to victory or defeat. No matter how good your maneuvers and tactics are, you can’t defeat the enemy if the bullets don’t hit you. This time, we will introduce effective practice methods to dramatically improve your aiming in FPS.

The first thing to do is to set the mouse sensitivity appropriately. If you play with a sensitivity that doesn’t suit you, no matter how much you practice, you won’t be able to improve. Generally speaking, it is a good idea to adjust the “turning sensitivity” so that when you move the mouse pad from one end to the other, the character turns around 180 to 360 degrees in-game. It’s good to imitate the sensitivity of professional players, but ultimately it’s important to find the sensitivity that allows you to focus on the target with the least discomfort.

Once you have determined your sensitivity, it’s time to start practicing. We recommend using free (or inexpensive) software dedicated to aiming practice, such as Aim Lab'' or KovaaK’s.’’ These software have a wealth of scenarios that allow you to subdivide and train the elements necessary for aiming, such as flicking (instantaneous aiming) and tracking (continuing to chase a moving enemy). Even if it only takes 10 or 15 minutes a day, creating a routine as a warm-up exercise before playing the game is a shortcut to improving your game.

It is also essential to use the in-game shooting range (practice mode) to memorize the recoil patterns of the weapons you use. Shoot against the wall, notice how the bullets scatter, and let your fingers feel the sensation of recoil control by moving the mouse downwards to control the recoil.

It takes time to improve your aim, but daily repeated practice will never disappoint. Practice steadily and overwhelm your enemies with your aiming power.
